iCET releases 2012 Green Rankings of China’s Car Industry
In order to promote the sustainable development of China's automobile industry, Innovation center for energy and transportation (iCET) held a seminar at the ChangFuGong hotel in Beijing to discuss China automobile fuel economy development. Executive Director of iCET, Dr. Feng An, launched “2012 Average Fuel Consumption Ranking of China Automobile Enterprises” and “2012 China Environmental Friendly Vehicles Green Ranking” at the seminar.

iCET recently released a report entitled “Background Report on International Biofuel Sustainable Standards and Policies”. Biofuel becomes an important option of substituting transportation energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the world. However, its large-scale application needs to fully consider the whole fuel chain life cycle impacts on the environmental, economic and sustainable development, especially its impacts on greenhouse gas emissions, land and water resources use.

iCET Carbon Management team has been tracking California’s carbon Cap-and-Trade scheme including its scheme design and operating conditions since 2011. Recently, the team has just released one of the report series on California carbon trading scheme, which is entitled “Analysis of the Auction Mechanism”.

As the strategic partner of China Youth Climate Action Network (CYCAN), iCET supports the cultivation of a new generation of Chinese climate leadership by providing technical support for CYCAN’s energy-conservation projects and helping develop its Campus Carbon Calculation Guidelines. On March 30th and April 13th, iCET’s Carbon Management Program Officer, Xueyu Li, spoke at the university energy-conservation workshops in Shanghai and Beijing. She introduced the methods of carbon calculation and related equipment utilization to two-hundred university representatives from 30 universities and colleges across the nation.
