News I iCET Releases a Report on International Biofuel Sustainable Standards and Policies
iCET recently released a report entitled “Background Report on International Biofuel Sustainable Standards and Policies”. Biofuel becomes an important option of substituting transportation energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the world. However, its large-scale application needs to fully consider the whole fuel chain life cycle impacts on the environmental, economic and sustainable development, especially its impacts on greenhouse gas emissions, land and water resources use. Countries with advanced biofuel development, such as EU, U.S, and Brazil have already well established laws, regulations, management practices, standards and certification systems to regulate the biofuels development. This report provides an overview of the international sustainability biofuel standards and policy development. It provides a useful reference for governments, enterprises, research institutes and non-governmental organizations to corporate and promote sustainable development of biofuels in China.
