Green Car China 2015 Award Ceremony
On the evening of September 23, 2015, during the Global Clean Vehicle Summit, iCET held the 5th Annual Green Car China report release as well as an awards ceremony. China’s 10 best performing 2015 car models were rewarded, as well as 2 new energy vehicles outstanding cars, and 3 clean vehicle models that are inspiring future production. This year’s China Green Car analysis demonstrated a decrease of some 50% in emissions on average.
Read More…iCET signed an MOU with Beijing Environmental Exchange Center (BEEC) in LA amid Xi's visit to the US
A memorandum of understanding between the China Beijing Environment Exchange, iCET, the Climate Registry, and the Climate Action Reserve, was signed on September 15 in LA as part of the "Alliance of Peaking Pioneer Cities" (APPC) meeting amid Xi's visit to the US. The MOU is designed to build Beijing's carbon markets capacity and introduce California's zero-emission vehicle credit trading mechanism to China's capital. This initiative aims to equip professionals with the experience and understanding needed to create well-functioning carbon and credit markets, which are critical to encouraging the deployment of clean and renewable energy sources.

The level of energy saving brought by hybrid cars is significant, as demonstrated through iCET’s China Green Car Ranking. The Lexus CT200h was ranked the best in the 2015 ranking, achieving much better values than any other ICE car. On September 18, iCET and Changzhou United Press Group jointly held the "HYBRID Day" for increasing awareness regarding hybrid cars. Over 10 hybrid models were presented and available for test rides and drives.

The workshop was aimed at guiding sound implementation by grantees of 2015-2016 SPF funding. iCET's "Developing City Transportation Emission Database and Calculator to Support Urban Transportation Planning" project is aimed at developing city transportation carbon and pollutant emissions calculator for informed transport policy-making through multi-cooperation with local planning departments, transportation research institutions, and UK policy strategy consultancy - E4tech.
