News I iCET introduces its newly formed Big-Data and Sustainable Transportation Program to WB specialists
iCET was invited to introduce the "Transportation in the Era of Big Data: Public-Private Cooperation on Transportation Data" project at the World Bank Brown Bag Lunch meeting on April 18th in Washington DC. Hosted by the Urban Mobility GSG, Green Transport and ICT department of World Bank, Dr. An Feng, founder and executive director of iCET, introduced the initial results of the new project "Live-cycle Analysis on Urban Transportation: Pilot Analysis of Chengdu, China" while Mr. Alex Morales, a dedicated LiveCycle project team member, introduced the Live-Cycle big-data generated methodology for a global value chain (GVC).
The presentations included the following key topics: (i) how to develop an MRV standard for transportation and logistics, (ii) how to improve lifecycle value-chain data visibility for each vehicle model, (iii) how to enable better understanding on the dynamic of Urban Transportation, and (iv) what are the ICT connectivity chokepoints to enable public-private data sharing and interoperability across the value chain. Mr. Fang Ke, Lead Urban Transport Specialist and Urban Mobility GSG Co-lead moderated the meeting. Mr. Shomik Raj Mehndiratta, Lead Urban Transport Specialist and other attendees raised valuable comments and suggestions.
