Green Car: Concept Introduction Video
"As air pollution worsening, and as people are forced to live and travel under the dome of smog, have you ever thought about the environmental consequences of your purchase choices?" - this is first line of iCET’s 2015 Green Car China Ranking promo. Cars have become the primary source of pollution and GHG in many big cities, impacting an increasing number of the population’s health and causing long-term environmental degradation. As we support people’s right for mobility choices and by encouraging consumers to choose cleaner vehicles, we strive to improve China’s air quality.
China has over 100 domestic auto manufacturers and 30 importing enterprises. Nearly 3,000 car models are available on the market every year. In addition to safety, cost, brand, and other considerations taken into account when purchasing a car, environmental performance should become an important reference point to maintain private mobility without compromising air quality. iCET’s Green Car China ranking provides a scientific and independent assessment of China’s top selling cars, both from a life-cycle and from a tailpipe emissions perspective. The results are illustrated in a simple and accessible manner through multiple online and offline channels.
