On August 15th, iCET Clean Transportation Program Manager Ms Kang Liping was invited to share iCET’s recent policy suggestion brief on Zero Emission Vehicle Credits China Program Design at a German Chamber Network event, inspiring Chinese EV stakeholders to converse on the topic of ZEV program design and action plan for China. NEV development is highly dependent on subsidies, but subsidies are not a long-lasting and sustainable solution to create a mass EV market. A more efficient and innovative mechanism should be built for NEV development and transition.A market-based ZEV mandate has been considered as a potential policy option for EV long-term development.Dr Wang Tao from Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy shared his analysis of new energy vehicle development in China. More than 30 Germany stakeholders attended this workshop, including Audi, DHL, and Germen Embassy, etc.
