iCET supports NEA/TC24 in the review of five non-food biomass energy standards

A meeting of China’s Technical Committee on the Non-food Biomass Energy Feedstock (NEA/TC24) was held on November 25 in Beijing. As the only NGO working on biofuel research in China, iCET was invited by the National Energy Administration (NEA) to engage in biofuel standard strategy planning and draft review.

Ms. Kang Liping, iCET’s project manager, represented the organization as standing committee expert and participated in the review of five draft NB/T standards. These included: the terminology of non-food land for energy plant production; the terminology of non-food biomass feedstock; the general principle for physical characteristics of crop straw; the technical regulations for energy cassava production; and the technical principles for sweet sorghum planted on salty land.
