News I iCET makes presentation at Guangdong International Workshop on Energy Efficiency Finance and Investment

On January 20th, 2011, iCET attended the Guangdong International Workshop on Energy Efficiency Finance and Investment. This event was organized by the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC), EHS Academy at Sun Yat-sen University and SGS CSTC Standards Technical Services Co., Ltd. Around 100 representatives from governments, NGOs, academia, financial institutions, enterprises, and energy service companies participated in this workshop. They shared best practices, ideas, challenges and concerns on energy efficiency finance and investment. Ms Li Xueyu, the Research Analyst of Climate Change Program of iCET, gave the presentation on the significant role of "MRV" playing in the field of energy saving and emission reduction as well as the related financing and investment opportunities in China. She also introduced Energy and Climate Registry (ECR) project to audiences. ECR is developed by iCET to monitor the energy use and GHG emissions for domestic and multinational corporations, cities and organizations, and also create a public emission report for each entity's energy and carbon footprint.
