News I iCET discusses electric vehicle system development with Shenzhen City DRC

On March 7th, 2011, the iCET low carbon transportation group traveled to Shenzhen to visit the Department of Major Projects of the Shenzhen City DRC to promote the concept of lower carbon electric vehicle system development in Shenzhen. During the trip, iCET was invited to take a tour in one of Shenzhen's BYD E6 electric taxis, and visited the Shenzhen Bus Company Putian-CNOOC electric vehicle charging station and the China Southern Grid electric vehicle charging station.  The charging stations, giving a vision of the future, offered 220 V and 380 V charging for electric cars and buses -- as well as resting areas for drivers as they wait!  Shenzhen currently has 50 E6 electric taxis, which provide comfortable and reliable travel in the city.  By the end of 2011, there will be 100 E6 taxis on the road in Shenzhen.
