News I iCET gives a speech at the 2nd Earth Temple Form 2011 on Global Experiences on Carbon Trading

The 2nd Annual Earth Temple Form 2011 was held in Beijing from June 25th-26th. The theme was "Green Finance and Sustainable Development". iCET president Dr. Feng An moderated a panel -- "Experiences and Trends of International ETS", and gave a closing remark regarding  "Building an Integrated Carbon Asset Management Platform in China" . Since the successful implementation of EU ETS from 2005, ETS has been widely accepted in major economies of the world as a powerful and effective tool to reduce carbon emissions. Learning the experience, lessons, and trends of international ETS is a necessary step for setting up China's ETS. Ms. Sun Cuihua, Deputy Director of NDRC's Climate Department attended the session at the end and gave a speech regarding developing the Chinese Carbon Emission Trading System. Speakers from EU, EUETS, First Climate, PricewaterhouseCoopers, US and Australia shared experiences and lessons learned globally regarding establishing a robust carbon market.
