News I iCET communicates with Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China on Low Carbon Transportation

On July 8th, 2011, iCET's low carbon transportation team met with decision-makers at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China and introduced iCET's transportation work progress to them, particularly the recent influential reports, "China Passenger Vehicle Corporate Average Fuel Consumption (CAFC) Trend Report (2006-2010)" and "China Environmentally Friendly Vehicle (EFV) Annual Research Report 2010". The officials highly appreciated iCET'scontributions to sustainable development of China's auto industry. They also provided suggestions for iCET to focus on in the future, including continuing its research on automotive companies, the average fuel consumption of imported vehicles, establishing a solid foundation for the third phase standards implementation of fuel consumption limits, contributing to development of the fourth and the fifth phases of China's fuel consumption standards, investigating international fuel consumption management experiences and providing suggestions for Chinese auto fuel consumption and enterprises taxes, as well as reward and punishment measures for the implementation of policies.
