On November
24-25, 2020, the "2020 Asia-Pacific Clean Bus Summit" organized by
Global Mass Transit was held in the form of an online conference. Dr. Feng An,
Executive Director of iCET was invited to participate and delivered A speech
entitled "New Energy Public Transport in China-Promotion of Experience and
Future Prospects". Dr. Feng An shared China's achievements and valuable
experience in the promotion of new energy buses, and also analyzed the problems
existing in the operation and use of China's new energy buses. Dr. An Feng
believes that in the future, pure electric buses will be the mainstream
promotion in the field of public transportation, and it is necessary to reduce
the operating costs of new energy buses through innovative business models and
improve the long-term mechanism of new energy public transportation
applications. However, in the short term, ultra-low-emission clean diesel,
hybrid or natural gas buses can be promoted as transitional models in
underdeveloped regions in the Asia-Pacific region. In the long run, fuel cell
vehicles will enter the market in batches.
