On September 22nd, iCET and its BestEV coalition members held China's first transparent and credible crowed-sourced EV ranking release. About 50 experts, media representatives, researchers, as well as auto and EV supply chain companies, attended the release. The results of two years of intensive methodology design, stakeholder engagement, online platform formation, and marketing – look promising. As many as 2,000 completed surveys, covering 95 EV models, were analyzed.
Besides an initial real-driving experience performance ranking for economic, standard and luxury EVs available for sale in China, selected criteria performance ranking and by-city ranking were also introduced. These results reveal market issues and technological gaps that may need to be addressed by manufacturers, such as charging time and battery depletion rates. Consumers and policy makers are being provided this information that will in turn devise their decision-making.
Following the release, two discussion were held: one to collect inputs on methodological upgrading of the system, and a second to conclude BestEV collation working mechanism and collaborating marketing of the system going forward. Currently, active coalition members include the Beijing New Energy Vehicle Development Experience Center, Beijing New Energy Vehicle Promotion Center, Beijing Transport Energy & Environment Center, Shanghai EV Data Center, EV-Charge APP, Star Charging, e-Charge Network, and D1EV. We are expanding, welcome to reach out and explore collaboration opportunities!
