The Clean Transportation Transformation Director, Ms. Maya Ben Dror, was invited to present iCET’s ZEV-credits study highlights at the 7th Earth Temple Forum on June 16 in Beijing. The forum, organized by the Beijing Environmental Exchange Institute and Beijing Green Finance Association and hosted by the Climate Division of NDRC, the National Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation Research Center, and the Beijing Finance Department, focused on green finance and low carbon development.
iCET's presentation was included a breakout session dedicated to the utilization of market mechanisms for promoting environmental development. Building on research and stakeholders discussions conducted by the organization since 2013, iCET highlighted the benefits of ZEV in the case of California and suggested some design inputs for the unique case of China. ZEV-credits have been included in the US-China Climate Dialogue in September 2015 and have been advocated for by several national ministries since. One of iCET’s future work areas includes the development of a ZEV credits design tool jointly with its partner, the Beijing Environmental Exchange Institute.
